BUSTING THE MYTH Spring is the Best Time to Sell Your House

The Donovan Home Team talks to people every day that tell us that they are waiting for the Spring Market to sell their home.  While the spring is indeed a popular time to sell a house, it is not necessarily the best time.  Hear us out.

Put your supply and demand hats on.  There are some very serious buyers out there and inventory is low.  That means there is less competition out there now as opposed to the spring.

Buyers at this time are usually trying to get into a house by the end of the year for tax reasons.  There are also many buyers looking to move here in January for job transfers, as we live in a very transient area.

Last but not least, interest rates are the lowest they have been all year.  Its a great time to take advantage of that.

While your house is decked out for the holidays, let it's charm rub off on potential future owners!  Show them the perfect spot for their Christmas tree next year.

Have you read this far and still believe that no homes sell this time of year?  We will let the statistics speak for themselves:

Dec. 2013:  1,013 units sold
Dec. 2012:  981 units sold

Dec. 2012:  753 units sold
